Since it is October, the scariest month of the year – I thought there would be no better time than to pick the brains, like my zombie forefathers before me, and find out what everybody’s favorite scary movie is at Lunarpages. So prepare to be scared.
Here are some great scary movie picks from the Lunarpages crew:
- Tony – “I’m a big fan of zombie movies especially the Dawn of the Dead series, the latest remake of it. I like how survivors in zombie movies are portrayed and how they survive and fight zombies.”
- Deb – “Nightmare On Elm Street series of movies – Not only was Freddy Kruger scary, but he had a sense of humor to a degree. Get it? Degree? Hot? Nevermind.”
- Mike – “Dawn of the Dead – Directed by George Romero back in 1978 scared the crud out of me. I was 13 yrs old and I had nightmares for weeks. The movies of today have great special affects but they lack certain aspects that just make them scary. And if you want to know something funny there was a song that was popular that year called “Magnet & Steel” by Walter Egan the night I saw Dawn of the Dead, I had to sing the chorus in my head just so I could go to sleep. Now every time I hear the song I think of Dawn of the Dead.”
- Hugo – “Quarantine – It’s so dark most of the movie you don’t know what’s gonna pop out at you next! And it’s not at all predictable which is great in horror movies. It’s a must for zombie fans!”
- Monty – “The Ring – You will find it was interesting about when you have a curse and have 7 days left. What will you do in order to survive this situation.”
- Roy – “Texas Chainsaw Massacre – when I was a kid, I saw that with my brother and when we were watching it, our dad went to the garage and got his chainsaw and right when Leather Face was swinging the chainsaw around, dad cranked up the chain saw and scared the heck out of my brother and I. Aw, the memories.”
- Orlando – “The Exorcist (1973) – You never know when a spirit will take over some one!”
- Kris – “4bia/Phobia – The best creative horror movie in 2008 for me. Worth to watch!!!”
- David – “I Know What You Did Last Summer – At that time Jennifer Love Hewitt is very attractive.”
- Randy – “The Uninvited – Because it is a psychological thriller that is not only scary but has a very unique ending as one of the main characters throughout the movie is really not there, she’s dead ! Otherwise, the SAW series!”
- Amy – “The Shining – 1980 – Stanley Kubrick + Stephen King + Jack Nicholson + Room 237. What more can I say?”
- Natalie – “Flowers in the Attic (back in the day), because Grandmas are supposed to be nice.”
- Mitch – “This is a hard one, cause I have so many favorites. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (only the 1974 version) would have to be at the top, mainly because the rural Texas landscape does look like something I could have stumbled upon growing up.”
- Renee – “5 Pink, because it some part comes from the real story.”
- Aon – “The Strangers – This movie is creepy for the plain and simple fact that there is a man in an ugly mask standing behind you waiting to make you jump and scare the bejeezus out of you.”
- Daniel – “The Hellraiser series – Pinhead was a very well fleshed out character with a sharp sense of humor that added to his prickly personality.”
- Katie – “The movie is SAW II. It was one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. You never knew where he was coming from and the horror and the graphic nature he killed people, it just ran chills up my spine.”
